Frequently Asked Questions
How is Medi-Weightloss® different from online GLP-1 prescription services?"
Online GLP-1 services provide a prescription without ongoing medical supervision, monitoring, or plan adjustments. At Medi-Weightloss® Berwyn and West Chester, every patient receives weekly in-person visits, physician oversight, and a customized plan that evolves with their progress. Medication is one component of a complete medical program, not a standalone solution.
Is medical weight loss right for me?
Our programs are ideal for individuals seeking structured, medically supervised weight loss with ongoing support.
How often will I see a provider?
Patients typically attend weekly visits to monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.
Are GLP 1 medications safe?
When prescribed and monitored by medical professionals, GLP 1 medications can be safe and effective. Each patient is evaluated individually.
Does my insurance cover any part of the program's cost?
Many of our locations are now accepting insurance and offer in-network providers with major carriers. Because our program is physician-supervised and evidence-based, certain services provided – such as the Initial Consultation, Office Visit and Preventive Medical Counseling – may be covered by a patient’s insurance plan.
Please check with your insurance provider to determine whether your treatment is eligible for reimbursement. Many of our locations welcome HSA and FSA accounts.
Do I have to be overweight to participate? What if I only need to lose 10-15 pounds?
Whether you need to lose 10 or 110 pounds, Medi-Weightloss can help you reach your weight loss goals. Our medical team will develop a customized program that will help you lose weight and transition into a healthier lifestyle.
What kind of doctors work for Medi-Weightloss®?
Our physicians are trained in Bariatric Medicine, General Medicine, Endocrinology, Family Medicine, General Surgery, and Obstetrics and Gynecology. All of our physicians are members of the American Board of Bariatric Physicians.
I recently had my physical, EKG, and blood work done. Do I need to repeat the exams?
Recent physicals or tests conducted by your Primary Care Physician are acceptable. For us to retrieve this information, you will be required to sign a release form during your Initial Consultation.
Can I participate in this program without the guidance of a Medi-Weightloss® medical professional?
Trying to lose weight on your own can be challenging. Many individuals find they need guidance and direction on their weight loss journey. Research has demonstrated that personal counseling can help people lose weight and keep it off †. Patients are successful on the Medi-Weightloss® Program because every patient is treated, motivated, and supported by our trained medical professionals.
How often do I have to visit?
It differs. During Acute Weight Loss and Short-Term Maintenance, you will visit on a weekly basis. Once you have reached your weight loss goal and transitioned into Wellness, you will visit on a monthly basis.
What pharmacies does Medi-Weightloss work with for compounded weight loss prescriptions and other compounded products?

This ensures you receive medications safely and in compliance with regulatory guidelines, without the need to identify or contact a pharmacy yourself. Below is a list of pharmacies we work with.
